IMG_3060After THE 1975, the next gig on my list was much more upbeat. MODESTEP are a band that first came into my music scene in 2011 when 'Sunlight' was released. From then I'd not particularly listened to or heard from them until earlier this year.

After playing the main stage at Leeds Festival 2015, I immediately downloaded 'London Road' which is such an incredible album.

This particular gig was the start of my birthday week plans and what a way to start it!

The support act I managed to catch, CULPRATE, was absolutely fantastic and certainly got the crowd moving. Each of his mixes had an addictive sound and would be the perfect pre-night out playlist. He's certainly worth checking out if you're into your electronica.

Next up were MODESTEP and all I can say to sum up their set is wow. Everything about it from the stage presence to set list, lighting to sound, the whole hour and a bit was insane. Quite a lot of the crowd had already purchased hand painted masks from the merch stand and were dancing away making the atmosphere look and feel incredible on the main floor.

Hannah and myself took our places on the steps to the left of the stage giving us a perfect view and still allowing us to have a little dance to the night's set. From the moment the band hit the stage there was bouncing, pitting and incredible drops throughout each song. After playing a range of older songs and tracks from 'London Road', Modestep completed the set with their collaboration with SKINDRED in the track 'Circles' which I must say is an incredible track.
At the end of the set they left another track, 'Nightbus Home', to spin before the band came to meet and greet all of their fans - I was lucky enough to grab a photograph with guitarist, Kyle, whom I very much have a soft spot for! If you ever get the opportunity to see Modestep live it's an opportunity not to miss, whether you are prepping for a night out or just want to hear some incredible drops.
