The Sesh is a weekly live music night based at The Polar Bear on Spring Bank, Hull. With three different acts every single week, there is something for everyone who is interested in the local music scene.
First up tonight ware Hull indie rock’n’roll band, THE RESONANCE. Tonight was their debut at The Sesh and they set the bar high for the rest of the night. As a band with five songwriters with different musical influences, the band came together to perform a strong set to a fairly busy crowd. I enjoyed the change over of vocalists and seeing all members showcase their talents. They are currently working on writing and recording their debut album and I would recommend catching these guys if they are playing near you.

Second up was the band I was most looking forward to, YEARS YOUNG. The alternative rock quartet from North Lincolnshire were formally known as AMERIA, a band who had airtime on BBC Radio 1 and were forever playing in my car. I’d not yet seen the new formation due to working commitments so I was very much looking forward to their set. With influences from some of my favourite bands such as Biffy Clyro, Mallory Knox and Don Broco, Years Young brought the stage to life and played with so much passion. Seriously impressed and potentially a new favourite band! With a UK tour and a debut EP, 2016 looks to be a promising year for this band. Make sure you check out their latest single, 'Miracles' and see these guys at the next available possibility. You will not be disappointed.
